Loga Ramin Torkian- “Mehraab” is the first solo album release by contemporary Iranian composer and multi-instrumentalist Loga Ramin Torkian. Best known as a founding member of the international world music ensemble “Niyaz” as well as his earlier brainchild “Axiom of Choice”, which earned him legions of fans in his home country, Torkian is considered to be a trailblazer in the movement of pushing the boundaries of Iranian music. For more than a decade now, Torkian has been on the forefront of creating progressive and cutting-edge music based on the classical Persian repertoire.

His knowledge and vocabulary of this ancient repertoire are most evident on this, his most personal recording. Here, Torkian creates a palette of colors through the processing of natural melodic instruments, all of which were played by him, and weaves together a sonic spectrum not commonly heard in traditional Iranian music.
